Health Counseling

Health counseling, also known as mental health counseling, is a supportive partnership between you and a trained professional. Together, you’ll explore the thoughts and feelings that may be holding you back, learn new ways to cope with stress, and build skills to navigate life’s challenges. Counseling is a powerful tool for personal growth, stronger emotional well-being, and a healthier, more balanced life.

Health Screening

Health screenings are preventive medical tests that look for diseases or health conditions before symptoms appear, with the goal of early detection and timely treatment. They can include physical examinations, blood tests, and imaging procedures, helping to uncover risks such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and certain cancers. The exact screenings recommended vary depending on individual factors like age, sex, family history, lifestyle, and other personal risk factors, ensuring that testing is tailored to each person’s unique health profile.

David J. Adams, DO

Physician | Former U.S. Air Force Captain | Communicator & Whole-Person Advocate

Dr. David Adams is an anesthesiologist and proud former Captain in the United States Air Force. He spent his career combining medical precision with human connection because he believes excellent care is about more than just procedures; it's about people. Whether serving patients in the operating room or representing the values of integrity and service carried from the military, he leads with calm, clarity, and a strong sense of purpose. Outside of medicine, he enjoys staying active and centered through bowling, weight training, and most important, giving back to the community. Life is about balance, and Dr. Adams strive to live that both in and out of the hospital.

Shenlone Wu

Shenlone attended UNLV at the age of 11 and graduated with a math major and at age 17. He is currently attending the masters program at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences from NYU. His devotion to mathematics is matched only by his commitment to humanity. He plans to attend medical school after obtaining his masters degree. His ambition extends beyond personal achievements.Through his role as treasurer at Better Health Better World, he can transform mathematical precision into a tool for service, strengthening communities and advancing the mission of better healthcare for all.

Wendy Casquenette

Wendy Casquenette is a retired New York Attorney and former Investment Banker at Lehman Brothers and Bank of America Securities specializing in Financial Sponsors, Real Estate, and Technology, Media & Technology. Ms. Casquenette has served on the Board of Directors of numerous non-profit organizations including the YWCA and Abilis.

Announcements

On August 26 2025, Better Health, Better World reaffirmed its commitment to community care by agreeing to assist in restarting an important outreach program that will provide free health examinations and support to survivors of human trafficking. Together, Better Health, Better World and Dr. Ricardo Cruz whose generous contribution of funds will make it possible to deliver essential medical screenings to those who need them most. More than a health service, this program represents compassion in action restoring dignity, empowering survivors, and strengthening the path toward a healthier, brighter future, care can bring real hope and healing to vulnerable lives.

November 1st, 2025

Community Health Event Achieves Over 1,000 Attendees and 100+ Diabetes Screenings. We are pleased to announce the outstanding success of the recent community health event hosted by President Dr. David Adams at the American University of Health Sciences (AUHS) campus in Long Beach, California. The event welcomed more than 1,000 participants and provided free diabetes screenings for over 100 individuals, reflecting our shared commitment to advancing preventive health and community wellness. Key partners and participants included the Long Beach Health District, Dignity Health, Walgreens, and other dedicated community organizations. Their collaboration and support were instrumental in the success of this initiative.We extend our sincere appreciation to all sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who contributed to making this event a meaningful step forward in promoting health awareness and early detection of chronic diseases.

Over 50 people actively participated in the recent health screening program, demonstrating a strong commitment to prioritizing their health and well being. During the screening, each participant not only received essential medical checkups but was also given personalized advice and guidance from healthcare professionals. This initiative was more than just a routine health assessment it served as an opportunity to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to make healthier lifestyle choices. We would like this opportunity to thank Dr. David Adams, Dr. Ryan Huang, Dr. Jimver Villadoz and Shenlone Wu for coordinating the event.

Más de 50 personas participaron activamente en el reciente programa de evaluación de salud, demostrando un firme compromiso con la prioridad de su salud y bienestar.
